Glass Brasserie – Sugar Hit

Posted by D on 9 October, 2009 in Contemporary, Dessert, French, Sydney | 4 comments

You know you’re a true foodie if even the worst weather cannot stop you from going out for the sake of food. This was exactly what happened on Monday when our booking for six at the Glass Brasserie for the Sugar Hit whittled down to a lonely two thanks to a weekend of wind and rain. Instead of being put off, I took it as a opportunity to prolong the long weekend just that little bit longer.

We got there a little wet and a little cold after walking through the streets of Sydney and were quickly ushered to our seats. The restaurant interior is warm and cosy but quite dimly lit – perfect if you’re there for a romantic dinner for two, but not the best for photographs!

No choice of drink this time round, so we got the Hennessey which was served from the cutest single serve bottles. :) Definitely not my kind of drink, but you have to try everything once.

Chocolate Fontant

Warm and fresh from the oven. This had the most delightful rich chocolate centre.

White Chocolate & Pandan Parfait and Earl Grey Ice Cream rolled in Cookies & Cream Biscuit

I love pandan. Mix it with white chocolate and make it into a parfait and I’m in heaven. The flavours were very light, subtle and nicely balanced. Adored the Earl Grey ice cream too – the distinct Earl Grey bergamot taste was clearly discernable but not too strong. These two were my favourite of the three.

Raspberry Marshmallow Bitter Chocolate Fondue

There’s something about raspberries and dark chocolate that goes extremely well together. The chocolate was thick and creamy and I especially loved the surprise raspberry that gave a nice sweet kick in the middle of the bitter chocolate.

  4. Great pics! And each little chocolate morsel looks so delicious too; we were there for dinner last night and their Chocolate Assiette has changed quite a bit (it has four things and none of the ones in the Sugar Hit). Time to return? :-)
